Regarding LOTRO going F2P

I would like to get a branch going in LOTRO and want to know who here currently plays\plans to play when it goes F2P.

If you would just respond if you currently play with what server your on or if you plan to play so we can get a general head count of the members we will have to start with.

I've played in the past, not much so server doesn't matter, and really liked the game. I have been hoping this would become F2P for years now and I will be playing this after it becomes F2P.

Anyone who is considering it should check out a 10 day free trial with the high res client and if you like it and want to do F2P, then I would suggest paying for one month before the switch as because you will be able to have premium F2P access after the switch, assuming I read the info on their website correctly

I played this a while back to try it and play every time they have a free weekend... forgot the server Jen and I were on... I know when we paid we started a guild. LoED of course lol... Anyway we only have a few toons level 5-15 on the server we were on so if we do begin to play we could prolly just start new or everyone could join the same server so we don't have to start new... I'm not very good at starting new although remembering where I am in-game quest wise will be a pain.... I don't know how it is a higher levels but just in party of me and jen we got good exp duo.

Hey Mage. Ok glad ya sent that email to me the other day.  I played LoTRo since the Beta. Then bought the lifetime ( $200 ) membership. So since I did that never any monthly fees and now that its going F2P Im in the elite membership. I have played in The  NIMRODEL world and currently in The Band Played On Kinship. Had one of my own but wasnt on to much then so disbanded it. Then joined one from our Guildwars alliance. Cant remember the name. That one tanked pretty quick. Seemed everyone was going to a different server. Now as far as I know. The Band Played On ( TBPO) has about 600 members just in the Nimrodel server. They have other kins in other servers also. Havnt played much within the last few months but theres usually always someone one. Anyways. Let me know what server you decide to join. I can make aserver swap with ym membership still. Looking forward to seeing you guys in game.

I second Harley in that RoM seems to be going downhill.  I would be interested in picking this up and giving it a test run.  I need a change, just don't know what it is going to be yet.

It looks like subscribing shortly before it goes f2p like Mavoc suggested will be a moot point.  The subcription would still carry into the f2p and provide other in game benefits to go with it, not just granting an indefinite VIP status.  Depending on how much 500 turbine tokens goes for and how valuable they are in the cash shop that will determine the value of a subscription.  It looks like there will be enough interest in this game to get a branch off the ground quickly and I am sure there are other players from both RoM and Allods that are looking for something new to try.  We just need to get more forum participation to make people aware of these other ventures.

Thats why I sent it as an e-mail to get more participation here. From now on I will be using that system on major things like this to get more people involved on the forums and with what we are doing as a community.

To all who have been following this thread.  Quite a few users from the RoM branch are beginning to explore LOTRO on the Firefoot server to see if it is something worth switching to / prepare for f2p.  Anyone who feels on doing the same should player there as well and try to connect with fellow guildmates.

Im down. Does not matter what server I'll start from scratch. I also have about 30 levels of experience and should be able to help out anyone that is new to the game if it hasnt changed much, and my memory serves well.
